My name is Dina Drakopoulou and I have the privilege of being a part of Greek School SOFIA from its start in 2013. I have been teaching Greek School for over 17 years. After teaching Greek as a second or foreign language for two years at Greek School SOFIA, I was excited to expand my role as Principal in 2015. I have graduated from St. Xavier University, Chicago with a degree in Business Administration and Education k-8 program from Trinity College in Palos Heights IL. I also hold a Certificate of teaching Greek as a second or foreign language from the Center of Hellenic studies, Thessaloniki Greece. I feel very fortunate to work with such a great team of teachers and students at Greek School SOFIA. When I am not teaching Greek, I love spending time with friends.
My name is Anita Drivas and I have the privilege of introducing and teaching the Greek language to children in PreK, Kindergarten and first grade. In addition to my role with the Greek School SOFIA, I have been the Director of Children Education at the Evangelical Free Church of Des Plaines for many years. I was educated in Boston, MA as well as Katerini, Greece. I returned to Boston to attend Massachusetts Bay College where I obtained a General Business degree in 1989. I was manager at Marriot Host International in Boston for several years prior to moving to Chicago when I met and married my husband Niko. We have two adult children whom I homeschooled and one grandchild. I truly love teaching and watching all children learn and grow in maturity!
